That was a great road game to go to as a fan. Me and ULGrad@Hou went to that came together. I remember thinking how rinky-dink the Houston stadium looked. There were a good number of UL fans. There was a cool Cajun following at that game and the tailgating was a blast. Houston sold beer in their stands... and I lost a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses... I think that was connected. That was a cool victory for UL. Jerry Babb was one proud peacock at the end of that one. The team came out and hung out with the fans later. It was good stuff.
I was overseas in Aberdeen, Scotland for this game. My phone went crazy at about 3am in the morning when the game was over. I wish I could have been there to watch. If was in the country, I would have been there.
Mandola had the t-gating food pre-game--the comeback win----the thrill after of the team -------the next week (we lay another egg)!!!!
I may or may not have gone so crazy after the go-ahead touchdown that Mrs. BabbForHeisman thought I was going to get arrested.
I remember having to stop and sit in my car at a gas station to listen to the end of the game. I'll never forget that ending considering the fact that I nearly turned the radio off when Houston easily went up 21 zip. I also remember the game afterwards. A mid week 6-0 Cajuns victory at FAU on ESPN2. As a recall, Michael Adams dove and knocked the ball away from the FAU receiver in the end zone as time expired.
Man, I remember being there for that game. Me and my friend brought a snare drum and were starting chants in the crowd. Afterward, we were just ridiculously happy. I remember walking out of the stadium late and seeing a houston player (I think it was their center) just outside of the stadium take his helmet and smash it against the concrete and the padding inside came flying out. Afterward, we went to a Bennigans for a beer and some post game food, we played "we are the champions" on the juke box and that was a lot of fun. That was my favorite game I had been to, until this year. Oh yea, as for winning on the road, I've been on 4 road trips, we're 3-1 in those games.
The Future is NOW!
I took the Alumni bustrip and it was so much fun. We had fabulous tailgating before and met up with good friends from Houston who came to the game. You could hear the team and fans hollering and echoing under the stadium for as long as possible. Pure exhilaration for the drive back from Houston that took about 10 minutes.
