Just for the record, UL signed the 18th, 26th and 43rd ranked players in the State of Texas, including two All-American nominees, plus two Louisiana All-State players. Four of the five are listed as 3-star athletes, if you're a star-gazer. And all four have a 3.0 GPA or better.

    I'll take that group.

On the other hand if he is only number one for UL, then he really is not number one.
I agree with cajun express. If Brodhaed is so good why is he still an assistant, especially at McNeese. And if he was so good in high school, why just one state championship. It sounds like he should have dominated at the lower level. He had the player for it. Lost to Kaplan one year that made to the finals. Not the best coach there. Just a thought.

My "Boomerese" isn't that good, but I think he was referring to the girls who signed with McNeese.

The Associate head coach has been created to help assistants get head coaching jobs in two ways.

    1. The title sets them apart from the rest of the staff externally/image- wise. It gives a coach with the title a little more leverage if the head coach moves on they they may look at the associate head coach first before going outside. Another factor is it can be a way to get this assistant more money, again separating him from the others. This title also can be a detriment in terms of staff chemistry. Egos are bruised and pride kicks in.

    2. The associate head coach may help if an assistant looks applies for a head coach position at another school. An Athletic Director may look at an Associate head coach with more interest than "just an assistant."

Remember that every staff is different in their approach to using the associate head coach title. There may be a plan behind it or just window dressing. Many programs and many head coaches have many different approaches to staff building.

You know, all the squawking we do here isn't going to make a hill of beans. BB, I love your passion, but writing all this stuff here isn't going to help your candidate.

Let's all take a step back and let Scott do his job.

While I agree with your point, this is a fan forum and this is typically what fans do on forums.

As Caitlin Diaz's father, I would like to set the record straight. She has not asked for a release. In fact, even though she received other offers, she picked UL because she wants to be a pediatric nurse and UL has one of the best nursing programs in the country. And of course, Coach Reau's relentless recruiting won her over. I know this is a forum but before putting specific information as fact please make sure it is credible.

Thank you for correcting the record. I hope to see Caitlin in a Cajun uniform because from what I've heard she is the best signee in this class. Her presence is much needed in the post.

    Thanks ladycajundad,

I have five daughters and two were offered scholarships in softball and track. (not UL) They opted to go to UL for acedemics, knowing that's where their future was. I congratulate you and your daughter for having the right perspective and making a good decision.

Jay and or anyone, is there an official coaches list being put out there yet? I would like to see Coach Broadhead in the mix if not get the job but a list out from Scott and company would be nice to give us all something a little more concrete to type about!
