When I first read it, I was a little shocked, but after a few more times, I understood the message you were getting at in this. Just be careful in your words.
The only thing I see here as being offensive to some is the truth. He forgot to mention some of the political deals that helped with two of those (bad) hires. Fortunately, those political hacks are gone with no more say-so's in hiring in exchange for ANYTHING.

Assistant coaches who want to be head coaches need to interview as often as they can, JUST to come across better in the interview process.

I am reminded of Mike Leach who was a bad interview at UL, so they went with Baldwin who was a great interview.

I agree with you Htx fan this next class has the talent for sure with 2 McDonald's All American Nominees and a 3 point specialist on the floor the rest of the conference should be on notice! Sunbelt Conference?

I personally thing it would be good to get someone in that has no ties to UL and Lafayette. Let this person make decisions on the girls returning, there ability and no family ties. Someone who has college coaching experience. It appears if Brodhead is hired nepotism will run amuck.

Why would we not want to go after the head coach at McNeese instead of an assistant. Appears, according to birdofparadise we have the money. Why do we always settle for something less. JMO

----------Well I didn't know but the Nichols Coach is the same that coached my daughter at Loyola and took them to the National tourney I think 5 straight years and is trying to turn NSU around----Doobie Plaisance and was the name I gave DW before the present hire----GREAT RECRUITER------And before the schooly in her last years they had to play, pass, and pay-----A great recruiter who beat the Cajuns this year in Lafayette!!!!

And the country elected Obama. So what does all of that tell you? Interviews and speeches don't tell the WHOLE story.

Any numb almond knows that Brodhead is a COACH and RECRUITER. I seriously doubt that anyone in the Baldwin era knew how to interview ANYONE because we ended up with him.. The proof is in the pudding.
