Brittany Bryant began the latest home-run barrage, Danyele Gomez and Ashley Evans ended it, and in between the University of Louisiana softball team got two more solid pitching performances in their sixth straight doubleheader sweep this season Saturday.

The Cajuns weren't extended into the seventh inning in either game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, taking a 9-1 win in six innings in the opener and shutting out the Islanders 8-0 in the nightcap.

UL (29-6), winners of six in a row in the past four days, added four home runs to their season total Saturday, giving them a nation-leading 65 in 35 games. Bryant had one of the biggest, with her three-run homer in the first inning giving the Cajuns an early 4-0 opening-game lead.

In the nightcap, Evans had a pair of home runs and Gomez added a three-run shot in the fourth inning that gave the Cajuns a 7-0 lead at the time. That poke was the 70th of Gomez' career, making her the eighth player in Division I history to reach that career mark.
