RAGIN' CAJUNS SOCCER CAMP

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's soccer program will hosting its annual summer camps beginning Sunday, June 8 with the first of three sessions.

Head coach Dave Poggi, current and former players and coaches will be instructing all participants on different phases and aspects of the game of soccer.

All camps will be held at the Ragin' Cajuns soccer and football practice fields located on Cajundome Blvd. (across from the Cajundome). The fields provide an ideal setting for the camps. The location allows the flexibility to do much more and thereby offer each camper an experience they will never forget.

The first session will be held June 8-12 (Sunday-Thursday) for girls ages 11-16 only. The camp will be held from 6:30-9 p.m.

The second session will be conducted June 23-27 and is a boys and girls camp for ages 6-10 from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.

The third and final session will be held July 28-August 1 and will feature two different time frames. There will be a day session from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. for boys and girls ages 6-10 while an advanced girls
session will be held from 6:30-9 p.m.

Registration costs are $80 for each participant.

All participants must have soccer shoes, shorts and shin guards. Each participant is responsible for bringing a soccer ball with them daily.

In conjunction with the camps, Poggi and his staff will be conducting a 6 vs. 6 Girls Soccer Tournament for U-10 and older to be held June 16-28. Call the soccer office at 337-482-5165 for details. The registration deadline for the tournament is June 9.

LOUISIANA La. - Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun soccer head coach Dave Poggi and his staff will be hosting the program's final summer camp Monday, July 28-Friday, August 1 at the Ragin' Cajuns athletics complex football/soccer practice fields.

Registration for the week-long camp is still open and walk-up applications on Monday will be accepted. Registration costs are $80 for each participant.

There are two sessions for the camp which will be run by Poggi, assistant coaches Ryan Tucker and Ashleigh Jones, volunteer assistant coach Adrian Boyle, former Lafayette SwampCats player Corey Butler and current and former UL Lafayette soccer athletes.

The first session will run from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and is for boys and girls ages 6-10. The second session is from 6:30-9 p.m. and is for girls only ages 11-16.
